Perhaps the most important devise in a green woodworkers tool kit. Shavehorses have been around in one form or another since at least roman times, and more recently used by 'chair Bodgers' to prepare billets of wood for the pole lathe. Today we use shavehorses on many of our greenwood courses to make bench legs, spatulas, swords, wands butter knifes and more. Carving freshly harvested greenwood on a shavehorse is I believe one the most satisfying things a human can do! We offer a two day course to make your very own shavehorse, either advertised or as a private booking for up to three people.
